How to Use Smart Ripper

When someone takes the soundtrack from a DVD it is said that they have ripped the music from the disk. There are various different software that may be used to do this, one of which is Smart Ripper. It is a free software which rips sound from DVDs into “AC3” format. The ripping process is really simple; here are some instructions to get you started.

Things you will need

  • A working computer
  • SmartRipper

Instructions

  1. Ensure that your computer is turned on.
  2. Insert the DVD into the DVD drive.
  3. Open the SmartRipper unzip folder.
  4. Double Click on SmartRipper.
  5. Allow a few minutes for the program to unlock your drive.
  6. Select the directory to save the audio under the target option then select save.
  7. Click on files and ensure that all the files are selected.
  8. Click on settings
  9. Select Files/Backup
  10. Under Key – Check select every VOB-file.
  11. Under VOB file access select auto.
  12. Under Options ensure that everything is selected except create directories.
  13. Click on the Movie Tab at the top.
  14. Under Key – Check select every VOB – file
  15. Under VOB file access select auto.
  16. Under File – Splitting select every VOB – file.
  17. Under Max file size select 4000mb
  18. Under Options select everything except create directories and ignore low disc space
  19. Click OK.
  20. Finally click start to begin the ripping process.
  21. Allow to rip.
  22. Remove the DVD when complete.

  • Ensure that all the setting guidelines are followed to avoid any spoiled disks.
  • Familiarize yourself with the software before attempting to do any big projects.
